Sunrise In The Sunflowers
Sunday July 31st , 2022
Amature and professional photographers alike jump at the opportunity to photograph such a beautiful display of blooms. For 2021, we have planted 4-acres of sunflowers near our pond and pastures and another acre of various ornamental colored sunflowers behind our tent. When the sunflowers are in full bloom they continuously face east, creating a sea of golden blooms. We will have a couple of tasteful props set up in the field for those interested in family or staged photos. We will also have the two viewing platforms on the eastern side of the field so you can get a larger perspective of the field!
So, if you are a seasoned professional or if you just want to test out what all those buttons really do on your new camera, plan a trip to Lee, NH. If you are interested in bringing clients for professional photos please see the details on the Photography page and our photography policy.
Admission is required for any persons wishing to go to the sunflower fields. This includes photographers, photographers assistants, other persons ages 5 and older.
This event is open to anyone that wishes to attend. You do not have to be a professional photographer.

Craft & Music Vendors
Coppal House Farm's sunflower festival draws over 10,000 people every year to the farm. No matter your age or interest, there is something here for everyone. We accept applications every year for our craft fair and Live music. Coppal House Farm gives Music vendors from the previous year first opportunity to secure space, therefore any room for new vendors is very limited if available at all. If you have any questions, please email us. Important Note: Sending this information does not automatically reserve the space. You will be notified of space allotment if there are openings.

Musicians email email@example.com with contact info and sample music
Volunteers support the Festival in a number of ways. Your volunteerism allows us to increase our donation to Make A Wish NH. Groups and individuals will enjoy a fun-filled weekend of helping others by assisting with Checking Wristbands, Children's Activities, Picking Sunflower Stems and Visitor Information.
Consider volunteering at our festival for community service hours.
Volunteers receive lunch on weekend shifts and a festival t-shirt as a thank-you!
Tips For Visiting
We want you to enjoy every part of your experience when you visit the Sunflower Festival. Here a few things to keep in mind when you plan your visit.
The end of July/beginning of August is a hot time of year for New Hampshire. We have experienced 90 degree weather in the past. We have also experienced pop up thunderstorms and rain showers. We encourage you to bring an umbrella if the forecast is calling for a chance of rain. If thunderstorms roll through, the fields will be evacuated until the threat has passed. Please respect our judgement during field evacuations. We never want to have to evacuate our fields, but we do so in the interest of your safety. The rain tends to pass quickly and you can go back to enjoying the field once the threat has passed...rainbows often appear!
Most of this event is held out in our open fields in the full sun. Plan to bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses and LOTS of WATER. Our bottle refill stations will not be available this year. If you do forget your water, there are bottles available for purchase from the farm store.
As stated before, this event is held on a farm in our fields. Be sure to wear the appropriate comfortable footwear. Heels are not advised.
There is a large tent near the fields with tables & chairs. There will be local Food Vendors to purchase meals from - more options on the weekends than weekdays. Live Music is available to enjoy under the tent on weekends only. You are more than welcome to bring your own food to enjoy during your visit. We ask that you leave any alcoholic beverages at home.
Remember...we have farm fresh meat for sale from animals raised here on the farm, so don't forget to bring a cooler to bring home some goodies!
Our Sunflower Festival is a special event put on every summer to celebrate our beautiful sunflower fields. Our sunflowers are harvested every fall to press the seeds into culinary oil, however, they are a sight to behold while they are blooming. Oilseed sunflowers are not like ornamental sunflower varieties that bloom for 3 weeks or more. Oilseed sunflowers bloom and begin to turn their heads to start drying their seed after only about 12 days. This means that we have a limited window to enjoy them in. This window is when we hold our Sunflower Festival; when they are the most beautiful. It is also why there is a firm end date to our festival.
From the joy these fields of sunflowers bring, came the desire to give back to our community. We partnered with Make-A-Wish NH six years ago because they are an organization we feel strongly about. Our farm is a family destination, and Make-A-Wish NH works with children and families. The pairing couldn't be more perfect. We have enjoyed working with them for the last four years, and look forward to many more. We donate 10% of admissions from the Sunflower Festival. In 2017, we were thrilled to find out that we were able to fulfill the whole cost of a wish for a very deserving little girl. In 2018, we doubled our donation fulfilling two wishes! Over the last six years, we have been able to donate over $65,000. We know this would not have been possible without all of you that come to enjoy the sunflowers with us. Thank you for your generosity to our farm and Make-A-Wish NH. We look forward to seeing you all!
Make A Wish Raffle
Every year for the duration of our festival we hold a raffle to benefit Make-A-Wish NH. We have had many beautiful items donated from generous local businesses.
Here's how it works:
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $10 each in our farm stand
Items will be on display in our farm stand for you to see
You will choose one card from a deck of playing cards
(This means there is a 1 in 52 chance you will win that item...and that's only if all the cards get purchased)
You write your name on one half of the card, rip it in half and place the half with your name on it into the jar that corresponds with the item you are hoping to win.
It's that easy!
List of Items Coming Soon!
Local impressionist artist Ron Quinn will be on site on Saturday July 31st painting live in our sunflower field. His painting will then be raffled for Make-A-Wish NH. This will be Ron's 4th year painting live at our sunflower festival and his paintings are always stunning!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost anything to go to the sunflower field?
Yes, weekend admission is $12 per person ages 13 and older and $10 for persons ages 5-12. Weekday admission is $8 per person ages 13 and older and $6 per person ages 5-12. 4 yrs & Under is free. Seniors (65+) and Military are children's price. We donate 10% of the total profits to Make-A-Wish NH at the end of the festival.
Can I bring my well behaved dog to the sunflower field?
No, pets are not allowed on the property.
Can I bring my emotional support animal to the farm?
Service animals are defined as working animals trained to perform tasks for the benefit of individuals with physical or mental disabilities- such as guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, alerting and projecting people prone to seizures , or other tasks directly related to a disability and are welcome at Coppal House Farm.
Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Coppal House Farm requires guests to leave pets at home to provide a safer and more positive experience for all attendees, including those pets.
Are your farm and the sunflower fields handicap accessible?
Yes, for the most part it is. Our paths in the sunflower field are certainly wide enough to allow wheelchairs through, but you would need assistance in pushing it. Plan accordingly, please remember that this is an outside event with uneven terrain that requires a significant amount of walking. Please visit our Festival Info page where our accessibility is discussed in more detail or call ahead prior to your visit to discuss your needs.
Can I buy tickets ahead of time for the festival?
Yes! Visit our Festival Info page to purchase tickets online. Online tickets available starting July 1st.
How do I know if the farm has reached capacity?
We will post on our website home page as well as on Facebook if we have to close the farm for any reason and when it has reopened.
If I can't make it to the festival during the scheduled dates, can I come see the sunflowers another time?
Yes you can! While we plan the festival dates for the best blooming period of our large oil seed sunflower field, we have a sprawling display garden filled with many sunflower varieties that is scheduled to bloom through August! For more information see our Sunflower Variety Garden page.
Can I bring a professional photographer to have my senior photos, engagement photos, or family photos taken in the sunflower field?
Yes, of course! We would love for you to use our farm for your photos. Please see our Photography page for details.
What is the best time of day to photograph the sunflowers?
All day! Have fun with it! The lighting changes the flowers throughout the day, so try taking photos at different times. You won't be disappointed.
Can I take photos of the sunflowers before 10 am?
Yes, the morning of Sunday July 31st we will be open for check-in between 5:30 - 7:30 am for sunrise photos. Tickets must be purchased ahead by visiting our Festival Info page. Professional photographers with clients must make a reservation. See Photography page for more info on reservations. You are welcome to remain in the field as long as you'd like, but you must check in by 7:30 am. Our fields open for general admission from 10 am until 6 pm.
What happens if I have a sunrise ticket but don't check in by 7:30 am?
Your ticket will still be honored during regular business hours (10 am - 6 pm) the same day as the sunrise event. No refunds will be given for the difference in ticket price.
Can I leave and come back later?
Yes! Re-entry is allowed between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm. If you have a ticket for our Sunrise Session, you may arrive between 5:30 and 7:30 am, leave, and then return same day during general admission hours from 10 am - 6 pm. The farm stand and check-in will close between 7:30 am and 10 am on Sunday July 31st. Your sunrise ticket will still be honored if you don't arrive by 7:30 am, but you will not be able to check in until 10 am.
